Chris Lawrence: Libertarian for Congress

Biography

• Birthplace: Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.
• Education: B.A., University of Memphis, 1998.

Chris moved frequently while growing up because his father was an officer in the United States Air Force. Chris lived in England for seven years. He has also lived in Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Sacramento, California; Ocala, Florida; Terre Haute, Indiana; Washington, D.C.; and Memphis, Tennessee. He moved to Oxford, Mississippi in August 1998.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Memphis in May 1998. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Mississippi.

In 1994, Chris spent a semester as an intern for U.S. Senator Connie Mack III, at the senator's Washington office. Chris has been a member of the Libertarian Party since 1997.

Chris is an enthusiastic supporter of the Boy Scouts, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1993. He has also served Scouting as a member of the Order of the Arrow service organization.
