Consulting Services
I am available for various web design projects and other
computer projects on a per-project or continuing basis. In Greater
Memphis and North Mississippi (anywhere north of Grenada), I can
meet with you face-to-face; otherwise, arrangements can be made via
email or snail mail. My rates are low and the resulting quality is
high.
Why Chris Lawrence?
- Over five years of real web experience, including being the
first student at Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology to create a publicly-accessible web
page, in early 1994.
- Creator and former webmaster of
Thorn on the Web, the web site of Rose-Hulman's student
newspaper.
- Creator and webmaster of
The Linux/m68k Home Pages, the largest Internet site devoted to
Linux on the Amiga, Atari 32-bit and Motorola VMEbus
computers.
- Recently revamped the Southern Political Science
Association and Political Science
Department (at the University of Mississippi) web sites.
- CGI scripting services available in both Python and Perl.
(Having Python available will cut your billable time, but I can
work in either language.)
- Experience with Zope object
publishing system (see
DeltaPolitics for a proof-of-concept using Zope and the Squishdot weblog/portal
product).
- If you need a more comprehensive solution, I have experience
setting up and configuring
Apache, the world's most popular web server, and other
essential Internet services (like
BIND and Sendmail).
- All my pages are written in Hypertext Markup Language "by
hand", not spit out of a HTML editor.
- All my pages are designed to be equally usable without graphics
enabled. Your customers with disabilities will appreciate this
extra effort.
- Reasonable rates for real Internet expertise.
